Ed Krajcir, Managing Director

Ed has extensive experience in leading teams and running businesses.  In corporate America he ran divisions, both domestically and internationally, for the largest gas distribution contractor in the Country.  Ed has also run divisions for an OEM and a contract packaging company.   In ownership has been involved in real estate, multiple startup companies and business acquisitions. Over the past 20 years, as the managing partner of a business brokerage firm, Ed has been involved in over 200 main street and lower middle market transactions. Ed is also the managing director of Valens Capital, a private equity company focused on the acquisition, development and management of cardiovascular ambulatory surgery centers and office-based laboratories. Earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Industry Focus: Ed has experience spanning most industries with transactions, his primary focus is in healthcare at this time.

Mark Kuether, M&A Advisor

When you meet Mark Kuether (pronounced Kee-ther), you will know immediately that he’s not just interested in a sale, but really wants to know about you and your business. What drives Mark is working with clients to reach their goals in a transaction. He does this while bringing a practical approach to a deal - whether working on a value analysis or negotiating terms of a deal. With more than 17 years of experience in transactional work, Mark can guide you through the oft-times emotional process with a steady hand and reasoned insight.

Mark is a family man, in the middle of raising 6 children with his very patient wife and trying to keep up with all their activities. He enjoys sports of all kinds (often to his wife’s irritation) and anything related to technology or science. He believes humor is essential to life – again often to his wife’s irritation. An avid reader of Isaac Asimov, Terry Brooks, Tom Clancy and Scot Adams.

Industry Focus:  While a generalist, Mark has extensive experience with machine shops/metal fabrication, having closed numerous deals in the industries. He also enjoys working in the senior care industry – both non-medical home health care and assisted living.

Steve Boylan, M&A Advisor

Steve comes to Valens M&A with 20 years of Mergers & Acquisitions experience working in a variety of industries. He founded Beacon Business Group in 2006, where he served as managing director of investment banking prior to joining Valens M&A. He has earned the Lifetime Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and multiple Chairman’s Circle Award designations from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and is also an Accredited Business Intermediary with the American Business Brokers Association (ABBA); he has served on the IBBA’s Education Committee and is currently a member of the IBBA Ethics Committee.  A founding member of the Wisconsin chapter of the Midwest Business Brokers & Intermediaries and the ABBA Best Practices Forum, Steve is passionate about his work, helping business owners to plan strategically when deciding to sell or exit their businesses. His goal is to confidentially and professionally help business owners start retirement or begin a new chapter, leaving a business legacy that takes care of employees and preserves the critical relationship with customers.

In his spare time he enjoys life with his wife, Catherine Cassidy, their four children and three grandchildren.  Steve has coached multiple Wisconsin Special Olympics teams as well his children’s sport teams.

Aaron Somero, M&A Advisor

Aaron Somero is a trustworthy business professional with more than 20 years’ experience. He is based in northern Wisconsin, near Hurley. After graduating from Michigan Tech University, he began in public accounting with Ernst & Young - serving clients around the country. With his strong foundation as a CPA, experience in private and public companies, he has enjoyed growing business opportunities in private Midwest companies as Controller and CFO at Ottawa Forest Products and BuildWitt.

Sean Moriarty, M&A Advisor

Sean’s 40+ year business career began with 5 years in the lending industry and then transitioned to commercial Insurance where he spent 15 years as both a regional sales manager and independent commercial property casualty broker and risk manager.  Pursuing a strong desire to be in business, he transitioned to a commodity trading firm as a trader focused on the pet food marketplace and then started his own trading firm in 2002, and after a few years, purchased one of his supplier’s milling facilities that produced specialty ingredients for human and animal nutrition manufacturers.  Sean grew that facility from less than $1MM in sales to over $7MM, with distribution nationally and 10 countries worldwide and then sold it to a large grain milling company in 2012.   Sean kept the animal nutrition brand he developed in 2002 after the sale and grew sales and distribution to over 3,000 retail locations as well as the Chewy and Amazon marketplaces, selling that brand in late 2023.  After the sale of the milling assets, Sean acquired two small manufacturing companies and a drop ship HVAC supplier as well as providing consulting services to an international food ingredient manufacturer.  Sean has built a solid foundation of experience in operations management, sales, marketing and financial management.  He is excited to leverage his experience assisting business owners find the best possible exit strategies for the businesses they have built.  Sean and his wife of 38 years, enjoy spending time with their three children, extended family and new grandson, as well as exercising, beach walking, and traveling together. 

Jessie Pavloski

Jessie Pavloski, Senior Credit Analyst

Jessie joined Sunbelt in 2024 as a Senior Credit Analyst, where she supports transactions throughout the deal lifecycle. Her responsibilities include conducting company and industry research, performing financial analysis, reaching out to potential buyers, and guiding deals through due diligence. Prior to joining Sunbelt, Jessie worked as a Commercial Credit Analyst at a local community bank, where she developed a strong foundation in credit and financial evaluation—skills that enhance her ability to effectively serve both buyers and sellers.

Jessie holds a degree in Economics with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, combining analytical expertise with a keen understanding of human behavior to drive successful deal outcomes.
